Launching the Love Laundry Awards

WASHCO has launched the Love Laundry Awards, designed to celebrate those working in care and nursing home laundries who have made a difference.

Since the pandemic started WASHCO has been supporting care and nursing home laundries up and down the country. It quickly became apparent how hard the individuals and teams in those laundries have been working to support their residents and fellow employees. To allow care and nursing homes the opportunity to celebrate these laundry room heroes, WASHCO has launched the Love Laundry Awards, announcing the winners at the Care Show 2021 in October.

“We know that care and nursing home laundries play an essential part in managing infection control and keeping residents safe and comfortable. We wanted the opportunity to recognise and hear the stories of those who have made a difference over the last year. The Love Laundry Awards are our small way of saying thank you, shining a light on an area that isn’t always front of mind,” explains Pete Hosking, MD.

There are two awards: Individual and Team. The winner of the Individual category will have a domestic Miele washing machine installed in their home. “When installing Miele professional machines into laundries, we often hear that people would love the opportunity to have a Miele domestic machine at home so this was our opportunity to make it happen,” says James Holmes, Sales Director. The winners of the Team category will be able to enjoy a new Sonos speaker system.
